Kona Mountain Bike Frames
For a high-performance cycling needs, look no further than the line of Kona mountain bike frames.
The four Kona mountain bike frames in the current line are the Dawg, Dawg Deluxe, Cadabra, and Abra Cadabra. All feature suspension platforms designed by Brian Berthold, who used to do this on the Formula 1 series. In addition, they have scandium tubing and trail-tested design for a ride that performs on difficult terrain.
One design aspect that Kona mountain bike frames are known for is the four-bar linkage system on its full-suspension bikes. This features swingarms that attach to the seat tube in order to activate the rear suspension. It minimizes the side load on the rear shock, allows for more specialized tuning of the suspension, and makes for a plush and comfortable ride. That’s augmented by the Drop Out Performance Enhancement (D.O.P.E.), a floating brake system in the Kona mountain bike frames that keeps the suspension fully activated even under a full brake, a must for those steep downhills.
